ROZENOORD
The “Rozenoord Monument” stands as a poignant tribute to the 140 Dutch souls who were tragically taken by the Germans near the tranquil Amstel River during the closing moments of World War II. What was once a rose garden has now been transformed into a poignant commemoration. Crafted by artist Ram Katzir in 2010, the monument comprises 100 chairs adorned with names and years, each chair a somber testament to a unique individual and their untold tale. In these silent seats, identities and stories endure, reminding us of the enduring power of memory and honoring the lives that were forever etched into history.
